With Christmas looming time is fast running out to secure those special presents. The gifts for your loved ones that come from the heart, or at least delivered as a result of carefully acknowledging their incessant hinting!

If their big hints have not been forthcoming and you're out of ideas, then what do you do? Gifting money is always an option, but not very imaginative. The plus side of giving cash is that the recipient can get better value from buying in the post-Christmas sales, but the downside is they also have to go out and get it themselves.

Buying for children is probably the easiest as they have no reticence in telling you exactly what they want. They will remind you every day of what they are expecting from Santa in the run up to Christmas, usually starting around mid-October! Beware the little darlings are prone to changing their mind at the last minute, leaving you to scramble to find their latest desired gift!

Then there is family and friends who just have everything and it's nigh on impossible to get them the right gift. For example, they buy DVDs, CDs or digital downloads they want as soon as they are released, have already secured tickets to see their favourite bands, and simply hate other people to buy them clothes or jewellery. Vouchers could be a possibility, especially if they are youngsters, or alternatively you adopt the latest trend of giving healthy Christmas presents such as days at the spa, adventure days out, and aroma therapy amongst others.
