Balloons are like surprises as they always bring a smile to one's face. Balloons are dear to everyone be it children or adults. The occasions on which balloons can be put to use are manifold. Balloons are very easily available with a wide selection to choose from online. Balloons may be use as gifts as well as for decoration.

Balloons are most commonly used for birthday parties and kid's parties. However they are also widely used for many other occasions and celebrations like religious ceremonies, Valentines Day parties, anniversaries, promotion parties etc

Balloons are generally made up of rubber or latex, though some of them are made from nylon and plastic as well. They are categorized by the material they are made of and the substance which is filled in them. Air filled balloons are the most common variety. They are cheap and easily available but are not long lasting. The more durable variety of balloons is foil balloons. These balloons are made of plastic which make them more durable than ordinary balloons. Foil balloons also have a smoother and shinier exterior. This added feature makes them a little expensive, however compensates with durability.

The most fascinating and interesting variety of balloons is helium balloons. Helium is lighter than air and weighs 0.1785 grams. So a helium filled balloon naturally rises upwards. Helium balloons fascinate kids and are ideal for decorations and parties.

Nowadays there are a variety of balloons bought for different occasions. There are special cartoon shaped balloons like Tweety, Tom and Jerry, Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck and many more. Then there are different shaped balloons such as heart, circle, oval, star etc. There is also a singing balloon which emanates a sound when blown and may be used for different events.
